  • About our Classes

    The Russian American School started the 2019-2020 school year on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 and invites everybody to participate in Russian language and Russian literature classes, art and theater studios, and music (piano & flute) classes. We offer group and individual classes for children and adults. Please click to see information about individual classes on the right.

    Annual fee of $40 is due at the beginning of classes together with first tuition payment

     

    Russian American School classes meet weekly or bi-weekly. Our adult program consists of small-group weekly or bi-weekly meetings and customized private lessons.

     

    Each children's language class consists of two segments:

     

    Russian Language and Literature: learning through language lessons, reading, writing, games, storytelling and songs

     

    Russian Arts and Crafts: building vocabulary and enhancing conversational skills while working on various traditional Russian creative projects.

     

    Most of our language-class students additionally attend either or both Art Studio "Shtrih" and Theater Studio "Mozaika."

  • Tuition & Fees

    Annual fee $40

    All new and current students pay the yearly fee and the cost of their tuition starting at their first session every September. New students who start after September also pay the yearly fee along with the tuition at the time of their first session.  All fees are non- refundable.

  • Adult Group and Individual Lessons

    Group Russian classes are for 2-5 students and are customized to the ability level. The private study is customized to each prospective student. Our adult program dates are tentative and can change depending on number of interested students.

  • Art Studio "Shtrih"

    In addition to the creative projects explored in the children's language classes, Art Studio provides a deeper exploration of drawing, painting, appliqué, compositional strategies, sculpting, Russian themes, and personal expression. Instruction and technique are provided in four different levels. Please supply your own materials upon instruction, some materials will be provided. Each Studio meets weekly. All art and Russian language levels are welcome, classes are instructed in Russian and English.

  • Theater Studio "Mozaika"

    In addition to the creative projects explored in the children's language and art classes, Theater Studio "Mozaika" provides a deeper exploration of the Russian language through special speech exercises, singing, performing, dancing, and participating in creating costumes and decorations, drama, and recitals.

     

    Theater addresses the skills which benefit children's education and development in five general areas: physical development, artistic development, drama and theater skills, mental development, intra-personal skills and interpersonal skills. Students involved in the theater arts tend to have higher academic performance and better standardized test scores as well as improved self-confidence, public speaking skills, team-building and the ability to work through consensus, differences or obstacles to achieve a goal.

     

    Each winter and spring seasons Theater Studio “Mozaika” presents a play. check our News and Events for past and upcoming performances. Theater Studio is a group of creative kids, their parents and adults who enjoy theatrical art and are working together on improving and growing from play by play.

  • Music Lessons - Piano & Flute

    Individual Music lessons are scheduled by appointment.

     

    Our music teacher arranges and conducts one-on-one piano & flute lessons from beginning levels to advanced levels.

     

    $40 for 1 hour

  • AGE 3-5 Russian Language

    The program includes story-telling, games, drawing, developmental and educational projects, participating in plays and puppet shows.

     

    The class is divided into two sessions: vocabulary and music. The first part engages in developmental games: the students become familiar with Russian language vocabulary. During music part of the lesson, students engage in learning and singing Russian songs and participating in performances.

     

    Children will be introduced to reading, writing and grammar basics which will enhance logic and abstract thinking skills, improve motor skills, and prepare for kindergarten and elementary school. Students will also participate in Russian-American School children's concerts.

  • AGE 4-6 Russian Reading & Writing for Beginners

    The program includes story-telling, games, drawing, developmental and educational projects, participating in plays and puppet shows.

    The arts and crafts segment builds vocabulary, introduces Russian culture and enhances conversational skills while working on various creative projects.

     

    The music part consists of memorizing Russian tongue twisters and songs during. Students will have a chance to participate in our musical-theater events.

    Our textbooks include 1st - 4th grade grammar and literature materials.

     

    The arts and crafts segment builds vocabulary, explores Russian culture and enhances conversational skills while working on various creative projects.

     

    The music part consists of memorizing Russian tongue twisters, poems and songs during. Students will have a chance to participate in our musical-theater events.

  • AGE 14+ Russian Reading & Writing

    The program enhances and maintains the student's Russian language skills through studying vocabulary, grammar, story-telling and writing skills. Homework is assigned each week.

     

    Our textbooks include 1st - 6th grade grammar and literature materials. Each year the class level is evaluated bases on its students.

     

    The arts and crafts segment builds vocabulary, explores Russian culture and enhances conversational skills while working on various creative projects.

     

    The music part consists of memorizing Russian tongue twisters, poems and songs during. Students will have a chance to participate in our musical-theater events.
